A Musical Interlude

It's challenge time again at The Burtonesque Dolls. This week the challenge is to incorporate lyrics from any Nightmare Before Christmas song into your project.

I decided to use Jack from Nightmare before Christmas and the lyrics are from "This is Halloween"

Christmas Roses Layout

Here is a layout I made for DownUnder Direct.  I've used the flowers that I shared in a post last week.  I've also used the new Bazzill pleated cardstock strips.  I've used one whole strip, but they can be cut into smaller sections as well.

Some Harry Potter Inspired Cards

It's preview week over at The Burtonesque Dolls and this week we have been previewing the new Harry Potter inspired digi images from Simply Betty Stamps.  I'm afraid I've been a little slack with my posts so I decided to just post all my cards I made for the preview on this one post.  Besides the Preview we also have a fun challenge running.

Don't forget to stop by The Burtonesque Dolls to see what the other DT members have created.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Christmas Roses

I don't have a card to share with you today, but I do have a picture of some "Christmas Roses" I made this afternoon, as part of a Christmas page I'm working on.

Some time ago I bought some rather expensive floral embellishments.  I haven't used them as yet, but really like them.  I decided to try to recreate them out of paper today, and I was quite happy with the results.  I've used my Rose Creations Spellbinder die. For each flower I've used two petals the same size and one slightly smaller.  I've wet, crumpled and dried them.  I've added some flower stamens and a little crystal glitter.
I'll be back sometime down the track with the page I'm working on.

Lacy Flower Tutorial

Wow I can't believe how far behind I've fallen this week. I posted this project over on the DownUnder website on Tuesday and completely forgot to come back here and share it. Anway here it is now.

For the flowers on this page I've used a Spellbinder Die that isn't actually a flower die.  For the full list of materials and a tutorial on how to make the flowers head over to DownUnder Direct Inspirations

Christmas Cards All Year Round-July Challenge

This is my second post this morning. Please scroll down for details of my first Christmas card challenge.

It's once again time for another challenge over at Christmas Cards All Year Round. This month we'd like to see white as a main "colour" and then we'll need some bling - gems, plearls, glitter, etc. Added challenge for fun - Flower(s) of some kind too!!!

For my card I've used shades of white with different textures.  I've stamped and embossed my image with gold.  The bling on my card is a little hard to see in the photo, but I've added some shimmery fibres behind the wording.  There is glitter on my white flower, and sparkly bits through the mulberry paper that I've used behind my image. There is also a tiny pearl in the centre of my flower.  The image and wording are from JustRite.

Christmas Card Challenge-Christmas in July

After 2 1/2 years of blogging I thought it time to run a challenge... so welcome to the first challenge here at My Creative Place.  To start off I thought I would run a month long challenge.  This gives everyone heaps of time to participate.

With Christmas less than six months away the theme of this first challenge is "Christmas In July- Anything Goes."

Simply create a card or project with a Christmas theme.  You may use any technique, product, stamp etc.

There are only a few simple rules for this challenge:

1.  Your project must be new-no back linking please

2.  Upload your project to your blog or gallery and then add the DIRECT LINK to your project at the bottom of this post.

3.  Mention this challenge in your post and create a link back to this blog.

4.  You may enter as often as you like, so long as you submit a new project each time.

5. Have fun!

The challenge will run until July 31st.  I will do a random prize draw on August 1st and announce the winner here.

The random prize for this challenge is a AUD $15.00 gift certificate to use in either of my shops:

or

I will also pick the top three projects and feature them here on my blog.

I'll come back later today and add a couple of  sample cards.
I hope you will play along.
