Epcot World Showcase 2010-Morocco

Just a quick post to share this scrapbook layout I did today.

This is a photo taken on our latest Disney vacation in December.  I've used my new Spellbinder Dies as I thought it suited the photo.  The title was printed from the computer.  I've coloured the diamantes with Copics.

Best Friends...

Hello again.  I hope that everyone is having a lovely and creative week.  I've been in the craft room for most of the week, making a few cards, but mostly making a big mess.  I've been playing with the new Spellbinder Dies - Carnation and Rose Creations.  I've tried a few different ways to assemble them, but mostly I've been madly making flowers to use in projects.  I thought I would share this card that I made this morning.  I've used Carnation Creations to make the flower.

The card is based on a sketch that you can find over on the JustRite Blog.  I am entering this in the current challenge.

Products I've Used:

JustRite Stamps-JB09220 Friendship Nested Sentiments & Verses
Spellbinders- S5-034 Parisian Accents, S5-049 Carnation Creations
S5-030 Fancy Tags Two, S4-145 Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles Small
Impressabilities 12-1004 Flowers
Bazzill Basics Paper-Bahama & White
Other Items- Glimmer Mist, lace and diamantes

Valentine's Cupcake Stand

Here is my latest cutting file.  I was playing around with some designs last night and thought I would try to design a cupcake stand, something I could decorate for various occassions.  Anyway I ended up with a heart stand, which I can probably change up a bit and make it into a wedding themed one as well.  It still needs a little work as I think I can improve on the design.  But here is the finished product.

If you would like the cutting files you can download both the stand and wrapper for free by clicking below.  Both are in svg & scut2 format.  The wrapper is also in pdf format.

I thought I would submit this to a challeng blog I came across recently - Paper Cubed.  The theme this month is "Love"  I'm also entering this week's challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  The theme this week is "For The One I Love."  I'll also will be joining in over at C.R.A.F.T Challenge where the theme this week is Valentine's
Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you enjoy my files.

A Star is Born

Ok I'm done with the Valentine's theme, at least for today anyway.  I usually don't get much crafting done at night, but I was still in the mood to make cards so I thought I would make just one more before heading off to bed.
This is the first step card I've made since before Christmas.  I had the Cricut out so thought I may as well cut out a couple.  The centre step card is another of my free cutting files.  You can get the download link from this previous post.
This turned out to be quite a quick card as I didn't do any stamping or have to do any colouring.  The image is a picture square from Sunshine Designs.  These are no longer available but I still have a few from when I had my shop in Cairns.  I've used one of my Cuttlebug embossing folders to give texture to the side panels.
I am submitting this to The Winter Wonderland challenge as the them this week is "Reach for The Stars" A Christmas or non Christmas project featuring stars.  I will also enter this in the Cuttlebug Spot challenge as the theme this week is step cards.

Another Valentine's Card & Free Cutting File

I was looking through all my cutting files this afternoon and came across another file I started but didn't quite finish, so I finished it up and here is a card I made with it.

I've cut the three pieces of my file using different bazzill textures.  I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the dots on the red layer.  The rose is a new Spellbinder Die- S5-050 Rose Creations, which has been edged with Rocket Red Brilliance Ink.  I've also used The large Petite Scalloped Circles die to cut out the wording.  The diamante swirls, ribbon and lace are from my stash.

You can download the cutting file for free by clicking here.  The file is in svg, scut2 and pdf formats.  The wording stamp is a free digi that can be downloaded as well.

I thought I would enter this in the following challenges:

The file is in svg and scut2 format as well as pdf.

Burtonesque Dolls Big Adventure Challenge

Time for another challenge, and this week we are taking inspiration from a rather neglected Tim Burton Film
The Challenge is to make a card/project based on the 'Big Adventure' theme and/or featuring Pee Wee Herman.

Seeing that the film focuses on a bike, I thought I would use this image from The Graphics Fairy for my card.  It's not quite as flash as Pee Wee's bike and it isn't red so I designed some red papers to use as backing. (I couldn't find any hi res paper so they look a little faded) The ribbon and charm are from my stash.
If you would like the papers you can download them for free by clicking here.

The stamp is one I picked up at Christmas from the dollar bin at Michael's.  The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

Digital Website Launch

Hi all.  Just a quick post to announce the launch of my new website Platypus Creek Digitals.  My digi stamps and cutting files have previously been available on my Platypus Creek Stamping & Craft site but now they have a home all their own.

I'm also excited to announce that my daughter Hannah will be adding her artistic talents to designing stamps for the website.  With her on board I should have lots of new designs on a more regular basis.   With the launch of the new website I have decided to include some of my Platypus Creek Stamp designs that until now were only available in rubber.  These are now available on the website.
As this is a new venture for me, I am still working on a facility for instant download, so for now you will receive your purchased stamps via email.  I will get these out to you as quick as possible.  The only real delays will be due to time differences.

Friendship Daisy

Here is a card I made using one of the newly released Spellbinders S4-318 Fleur De Lis Squares.
The card stock is from The Swiss Dot Bazzill range.  The stamp is another Platypus Creek Digi.  I've printed the image onto Express It Blender card and then coloured with Copics.  Some ribbon and a few pearls was all it needed to finish it.

Christmas Cards All Year Round -February Challenge

Here are a couple of DT cards I made for Christmas Cards All Year Round.  The challenge this month is to use pink and red as well as dimension of some sort on your card.
The image on this first card is a digi from Simply Betty Stamps.  I've printed her out onto Express It blender card and coloured with Copics.  I've also coloured the white lines on the paper with my Copics.  I've had the paper for ages, but I believe it's from Christina Re.  The wording is from Sunshine Designs.  For dimension I've added Pearls, Liquid Applique, and Magic Mount to raise the wording.

For this second card I've used a digi from Torico's Digital Gallery  I've printed the image and then coloured with Copics.  For dimension I've added a button and Magic Mount to pop up the wording.  The paper is from my stash.  If you would like the wording stamp you can download it for free from my website Platypus Creek Digitals
