Burtonesque Dolls - It's a Mad Mad Tea Party

It's a Mad Mad Tea Party over at The Burtonesque Dolls this week, so here is my Design Team sample for this week's challenge.

For the challenge this week we were given the scene below from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland to use as inspiration. The image I have used was a freebie from Digital Two For Tuesday. I've had the image for some time but this is the first I've used it. The paper is from Basic Grey. The key is from the tag that was on an Alice in Wonderland t-shirt . The cups were something I got on my last trip to the US.

Christmas Tree Tags

Just wanted to share some tags I made to take with me to Canada. I've pre-scheduled this post as I am probably running around the house madly doing those last minute checks before heading off to the airport. I will pre-schedule a few posts so do check back over the next month. I may even have a few photos to share along the way.

These tags were pretty simple. I've used my Holiday Tree die from Spellbinders to cut them out. The image is from JustRite. I've added a little glitter a bow and a diamante and that's it.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Christmas

The 12 Days of Christmas has kicked off over at Simply Betty Challenges. With our trip just two days away I didn't think I was going to get a chance to participate, but I couldn't help myself and decided to do just this one.
The challenge today is to use a Simply Betty Halloween stamp to make a Christmas card. I have used Sassy Witch Mina, all decked out in Christmas colours. I've even replaced the skulls with diamantes.

Gift Boxes

I was cleaning up the craft room yesterday and I came across some class kits that I've had for some time. I thought I would make them up and use them as gift boxes. As they were all pre cut, most of the papers are of unknown origin, but most likely discontinued anyway as the kits are a few years old now. I do remember that the letters and numbers are cut using Sizzix lollipop dies. The red cardstock is from Bazzill.

Candy Cane Holders

I designed this holder a few weeks ago, but hadn't had a chance to cut it out and see if it actually worked. I will probably make some changes later, but I think in looks ok. The stamps that I've used to decorate the holders are from the new JustRite set Whimsical Christmas. I've used some scraps of printed paper to line the inside before folding it up. If you would like the cutting file you can download it for free by clicking here. It is in svg and scut2 format.

As we will be overseas for December I didn't have my Christmas Tree to take a photo of it hanging. I did still have the Halloween Tree handy so here it is on that. It actually hangs quite nicely on the tree. I thought I would submit this to this week's challenge over at Winter Wonderland. The challenge this week is to make a decoration.

The Burtonesque Dolls Sketch Challenge

Hi all, hope everyone is well. First up my exciting news. I am now a design team member of The Burtonesque Dolls. I was thrilled to be chosen and look forward to creating and being part of this fantastic design team. Now for this week's challenge:

It's a Sketch this week!

For this week the Dolls have a great Sketch created by Cheri over at Simply Betty Challenges. So grab your papers, embellies and images and leave the design to us.

For my card I decide to flip the sketch. I've used Lola from Simply Betty Stamps. She has been printed onto X Press It blender card and coloured with Copics. The paper I've had for ages, is Just A Girl from Got Moxxie. I thought this the perfect background for Lola.

Here is the sketch. Be sure to stop by The Burtonesque Dolls and see what the other Dolls have created.

Three Trees

This stamp from Sunshine Designs would have to be one of my all time favourite Christmas designs.
I spent a lot of time on the image so decided to keep the card design pretty simple. The image has been stamped and embossed twice. The base image has been coloured completely. I've stitched beads onto the middle tree. I've coloured in a second image and attached the two outside trees and the star from the middle tree to the base using Magic Mount. I've added some diamants to the trees and some Ice Stickles to the stars. Tombows were used to colour in the images.

Just a quick post to share this card I made this afternoon. I've had this stamp for ages but never used it. The image is from Sunshine Designs, the wording is from JustRite. All the papers are from my scrap box.

Gretel

I had a friend visiting a couple of weeks ago, and while she was here we visited the local scrapbook shop. Although I didn't really need anything I did manage to find a few things to buy. This stamp from C C Designs was one of my purchases. I 've stamped the image onto X Press It blender card with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then coloured with Copics. All the papers are from my scrap box. I believe the DP is from Kaiser.

Glitter Trees

Here are some cards I made yesterday. With less than 2 weeks until we leave for our Christmas vacation, I thought I had better get moving on my Christmas cards. I still have so much I want to make before I leave.

The tree is cut from my Joys of The Season Cricut cartridge. I've cut the tree from Jac Paper, attached it to an oval of white Bazzill and then applied glitter. For the glitter borders I've stuck some Jac Paper to cardstock before cutting out with my Spellbinder dies. I attached white cardstock to this, leaving only a small border of the sticky Jac Paper showing and applied the glitter. I sprayed all with clear sealer to keep the glitter in place. I thought I would submit this to Christmas Cards All Year 'Round as the challenge for November is trees and a bow.

Green, Red & Black Christmas Cards

I thought I would use up some scraps today so I sorted through my scrap pile and picked the colour combo of red, green and black to work with. Here are two cards I made.

This first card is made using a new design "Leafy Tree" from The Stamp Barn. I stamped and embossed the image and then coloured with Tombows. The white background card is an embossed cardstock from Bazzill. It is difficult to see but it has a leafy pattern that matches the stamp. I've added a few diamantes to the dots on the card.

This second card was stamped with Memento and coloured with Copics. The image is also from The Stamp Barn. Both images are now available in my web shop.

Jingle All The Way

Here is a card I just finished. The stocking has been cut from felt using my Holiday Cheer Spellbinders. The fancy tag is also a Spellbinder die. I've stitched on five little bells and stitched some x's onto the stocking as well. It was difficult to match the felt with cardstock colours , but I think the ones I've used look ok.
The wording is from Sunshine Designs.

Red & White Christmas Cards

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I've had a pretty productive one, spending most of it in the craft room. I think I managed to make nine cards in total. It was good to finally feel like Ii'm getting caught up. Here are two of the cards I made.

For the first card I used Whimsy Santa from Sunshine Designs. I've stamped the image onto X Press It blender card using Tuxedo Black Momento and then coloured it with Copics.

The second card was a real quick one. I've used my Fanciful Holiday Spellbinder die to cut the reindeer. The wording is from Sunshine designs. All papers for both cards are from my scrap box.

Glad Tidings

I am finally back after a longer break than I had planned. It's been a hectic couple of weeks but hopefully I can get the weekend to catch up on some of my craft projects.
I made this card this morning for Simply Betty Challenges. This week we were provided with a sketch to follow. I've used one of the new Simply Betty Christmas Emo images released last week. The image has been printed onto X Press It Blender Card and coloured with Copics. The papers are scraps from my scrap box. The greeting is from Sunshine Designs.

Felt Christmas Ornament

I thought I would take a break from paper crafting yesterday, so I made this little felt ornament.

I picked up some bright coloured felt pieces yesterday as well as some embroidery cottons as I wanted to make a few ornaments to take as gifts when we go to USA/Canada at the end of the month. For this one I used the largest Holiday Tree Spellbinder die and cut out two felt pieces. I stitched on some buttons and then stiched around the outside. It's been filled with a small amount of toy stuffing. I used some of the cotton to make a loop at the top and tied a bow.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween - Day 12

It's the final day of The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. It's been heaps of fun and I've enjoyed each and every one. The theme for today is "12 Witches Cackling"

For my project I have made a star card. It is in fact a recipe for the "Ultimate Witches Brew"
It was quite a challenge keeping all the ingredients tucked safely inside. They were very determined to escape. As the label says "Open at Your Own Risk"

For this Witches Brew you will need the following:
12 Cackling Witches to assemble and mix:
1 Bat
1Spider
1 Lizard
1 Toad (the uglier the better so I've used a Cane Toad)
1 Snake
Throw all ingredients into the cauldron and recite the following:
Double Double, Toil and Trouble, Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble

Anyway, here is a photo of what the opened project looks like. Below I've added a photo of each individual section.

Double Double

Toil and Trouble

Fire Burn

Cauldron Bubble

Happy Halloween
Both images are from Simply Betty Stamps. I've used Bazzill for the plain cardstock. The inside panels have been embossed with my Cuttlebug Spiderweb embossing folder. The DP is from Best Creations Inc. All images were printed onto X Press It Blender Card and coloured with Copics. The "ingredients" and card panels were cut on my Cricut using files I designed. I've used wire to suspend the "ingredients" in the cauldron.
