Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to all. I thought I would share another Halloween card I made this morning. It's not the last one for this year as I still have one more challenge to complete in the 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges.

I thought I would also share a photo of my Halloween Tree. I've had the country style tree for a couple of years, decking it out for Christmas with folky/country ornaments. Last year my daughter and I spent October in Canada and travelled down to Lancaster PA for a few days. I found these little Halloween ornaments in one of the many shops we visited and decided we needed a Halloween Tree
I didn't get a real pumpkin this year as we don't usually get any trick or treaters. I do have a foam one that looks pretty real so I have one of those battery operated candles in that. I started making some felt pumpkins for the tree skirt but only finished one-maybe next year.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween - Day 11

The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges are nearly finished. It's been such good fun, playing along. I've made more projects for Halloween in the past couple of weeks than I've ever made. The theme of the challenge today is 11 Bats a Flying.

I decided to do something a little bit different for this one. I did make a card and then remembered that I had some cool bat ribbon stashed away so had a change of plans.
Seeing that the Spring racing season has kicked off here in Australia and with Melbourne Cup coming up on Tuesday, I thought I would make some wearable art and create this fascinator. It may not win any prize at Fashions on The Field but I had fun creating it.

I cut the bats on my Cricut and then covered them with Black Diamond embossing powder. I added a few beads to some wire and added a few orange diamantes.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween-Day 10

It's day 10 of The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. The theme today is "10 Creepy Spiders Spinning Their Web Just for Me"

The image that I've used is Spiderella from Simply Betty Stamps. I've coloured her with Copics and added a little Distress Ink sponged on after I cut her out. The spiderweb card is one of my own cutting files. The wording has been printed in Nightmare Before Christmas font. The spiders are from a packet of Halloween confetti I've had for ages. I've added a little crystal glitter to the web for a shimmery effect, but it's a bit difficult to see in the photo.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween- Day 9

Its day 9 of the 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. The challenge today is themed "Love Potion #9"

I created a Potion Bottle cutting file and made a shaker card. I've filled the bottle with chunky glittter and spiders. The spider paper on the inside of the bottle doesn't have any info on it so I'm not sure who made it. I've used my Cuttlebug spiderweb embossing folder on the front. The image is Sassy Witch Mina from the Victorian Beauties digi range over at Simply Betty Stamps. The image has been printed onto X Press It blender card and coloured with Copics. If you would like the cutting file for the card you may download it for free by clicking here. The file is in both svg & scut2 format. I've updated the day 8 post and added the link for the cauldron cutting file now as well.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween- Day 8

Here is my card for the 8th Day of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. The theme today is 8 Waltzing Zombies dancing around a Witches Cauldron. For this challenge we had to incorporate zombies and/or cauldrons into our project.

For my card I designed a cauldron shaped card and used Betty Witch from Simply Betty Stamps. The bats were cut using my Spellbinder Nested Bats die. All the other bits and pieces are from my stash.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween-Day 7

It's day 7 of The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. Today's theme is 7 Skellingtons, and the challenge is to incorporate Jack Skellington into your project.

For my card I have London Pumpkin from The Simply Betty Emo Halloween range dreaming of her perfect man, Jack Skellington The Pumpkin King. I've replaced the pumpkin at London's feet with the Jack pumpkin head from the follower freebie. The DP is from Bo Bunny, the bats are Spellbinders and the spider web was cut on my Cricut.

Haunted Design House-Simply Sinister

Hi all. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Here is the card I made for this week's challenge over at Haunted Design House. The theme this week is Simply Sinister and the challenge was to keep the card simple with a minimum of embellishments etc.

My card was a super simple quick card. I've printed out Christian Vamp from Simply Betty Stamps onto X Press It blender card and coloured with Copics. The background paper is some I've had for ages that came in a pack from one of the discount shops. I've added a few Spellbinder bats and that is about all.

Penny Black Christmas Cards

Here are a couple of cards I made today. I just bought this new set of Penny Black Christmas stamps-Mimi"s Christmas, and I wanted to have a bit of a play. The top card has been stamped with Tuxedo black Momento and then coloured with Copics. I've added some Liquid Applique to the hat and dress and sprinkled some Crystal Glitter over it before heating.
The second card has been stamped and embossed and then coloured with a combo of Copics and Tombows. All the papers are from my scrap box and the embellishments are from my stash.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween-Day 5

It's day five of The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. Todays theme is "5 flying ghosts whispering in the wind!"

For my card I used Christian Vamp digi from Simply Betty Stamps. The image has been printed onto X Press It blender card and coloured with Copics. I designed the frame to cut on my Cricut. I've cut out some extra ghosts to pop up over the ones on the frame. I couldn't resist using my Cuttlebug spider web embossing folder yet again. I think this is the most used embossing folder I own. I've used Crystal Glitter on the ghosts to make them sparkle. It's hard to see but I've used my clear Atyou Spica glitter pen on the spider web on the frame for a little sparkle as well.

Simply Betty Challenges #4

Here is the card I made for this weeks challenge over at Simply Betty Challenges. The challenge this week was to make a card or project using a scene in a photo for inspiration. The photo is of a scene from "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" I can remember watching this every year when I was a kid growing up in Canada. I think I have a copy of it on VHS that I got for my daughter when she was little.

Anyway I tried to incorporate all the colours from the photo into my card. The pumpkins in the pumpkin patch were cut on my cricut. I added lots of Art institute Glitter in Pumpkin, Black and Sea. The image is a follower freebie from Simply Betty. I've coloured this with Copics, once again using the colours in the picture. Although this Sally isn't waiting on the Great Pumpkin to appear, she is patiently waiting on her "Pumpkin King"

Give Thanks

Here is a card I just finished for this week's challenge over at The JustRite Inspiration Blog.

The challenge this week is to make a Thanksgiving or thank you card or project. I thought I would make another version of the pumpkin card I made on the weekend. The stamp I have used is from the JustRite Favorite Occasions Set. The greeting around the image was done using the JustRite Small Letter Set. The image has been stamped in Momento Ink and coloured with Copics. I've used my Cuttlebug pumpkin embossing folder to emboss the front panel of the card.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween-Day 4

It's day 4 of The 12 Days of Halloween Challenge over at Simply Betty Challenges. The theme today is ravens.

We had to incorporate ravens into our project and include the following quote from "Vincent"

"His voice was soft and very slow as he quoted the Raven from Edgar Allen Poe: "and my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor shall be lifted? Nevermore..."
.
I got an early start on this one as I knew I had a busy couple of days ahead. The background image is from the internet. Not sure of the origin as I couldn't find any details on it. I've printed it out onto a light gray Bazzill. Next I've cut a frame from Black Bazzill and attached this with Magic Mount. I've attached The Halloween Fence Spellbinder to the front of this frame. Next I made a frame from gray & black Bazzill and mounted this over top using Magic Mount again. I printed Damien from the new Spooky Hollow range at Simply Betty Stamps onto X Press It blender card and coloured with Copics. I thought Damien was the perfect haunted looking image to use for this project.

Autumn Pumpkins

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends in blogland.

Although it isn't a holiday here in Australia, my family will be celebrating with a traditional Thanksgiving meal ( well as close to traditional as we can get) We can't get Turkeys here this time of year, so it will be roast chicken and all the trimmings. I was in a bit of a festive mood this morning so I designed a pumpkin cutting file and made a couple of cards. I will release the files as well as the matching Pumpkin Pie digi stamp after I have a chance to clean them up a bit.

Anyway the cards are pretty simple, just cut and put together. I used my Cuttlebug pumpkin embossing folder to emboss the front. A bit of ribbon and some wire and that's it.

Simply Betty's 12 Days of Hallowen-Day 3

It's day three of The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. The theme today is "Three Creepy Rag Dolls" and the challenge is to use Sally as your main rag doll. The stamp I used is a Follower Freebie from Simply Betty Challenges.
The image has been printed onto X Press It blender card and then coloured with Copics. The black flowers are ones I made using Bazzill. The background is also Bazzill. It has been wet and then scrunched before drying with a heat gun. I printed Happy Halloween in Nightmare Before Christmas font. I've also added three doll buttons to the top right corner.

Spooky

I made this card this morning. The stamp is a Platypus Creek digi. It is difficult to see in the photo, but the image is actually a frame on top of a shaker box. Inside the shaker box is a cute little witch button I picked up earlier this week at the local scrapbook shop. I will be submitting this card to the following challenges:

Haunted Design House-Dasterdly Delicious Digis
&
One Stitch at a Time- Spooky Halloween

Quick Christmas Card

Here is a quick Christms card I made last night. I was sorting through my scap box looking for a particular pattern of paper and decided that I really did have to make an effort to reduce the quantity of scraps that I was collecting. All the cardstock and paper used on this card is from my scrap box. Even the card came from a box of pre-scored cards that have been sitting in the craft room for ages. I don't think I have used a pre-scored card in over a year. The stamp I have used is Snowflake Tree from The Stamp Barn. I've added a few clear diamantes to give it a little sparkle.

Simply Betty Challenges #3

Here is another version of the bat treat box that I made for this weeks challenge over at Simply Betty Challenges. The theme this week is "Anything Halloween but a card."
For this project I've used Rio from Simply Betty Stamps' My Kids Emo Digi range. She's all decked out in Halloween colours ready to trick or treat. The image has been printed onto X Press It blender card and then coloured with Copics. I've printed Trick or Treat using Chiller font onto some Bazzill Swiss Dot. The cardstock that I've used to cut the box is from Best Creation Inc. The purple bats are from the Nested bats Spellbinder set.

No Tricks, Just Treats

I spent most of this morning playing around with a new treat box design. I've used the original base that I posted back in September, but have improved on the basic design and added a couple of new bits.

I wasn't sure if I liked the web around it, so I've also taken a photo without the fussy stuff. The image that I have used is from the JustRite Favorite Occassions set. The image has been stamped with Tuxedo Black Momento ink and colured with Copics. The purple bats on the front are part of the Spellbinders Nested Bats set. The bats on the moon are one of my own cutting files. These have been coated with Black Diamond embossing powder. I've sprayed the large bat with webbing spray

I will be submitting this to the current challenge (#38) over at The JustRite Inspiration Blog. The challenge this week is to make a 3D holiday project using your JustRite Stamps.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween - Day 2

Well I really had heaps of fun making this card for day 2 of The 12 Days of Halloween, over at Simply Betty Challenges. The theme for day two is "Two Trick or Treaters"

I had an appointment this morning so I thought I would call into my local scrapbook shop to see if they had any Halloween papers. I managed to spend over $40.00 and came out with a nice little stash of gorgeous papers and other bits and pieces. The Spiderweb paper was one that I got, and is from Best Creations Inc - Haunted House range. The stamps are both from Simply Betty Stamps. I've printed them onto X Press It blending card and coloured with Copics. The bats are from one of the new Halloween Spellbinders - Nested Bats. I've coated the bats and spider with pigment ink and then sprinkled on some Black Diamond embossing powder and heated. I did the same on the spiderweb, but used white embossing powder. I've also added some Glossy Accents to the tiny spiders on the paper to make them stand out better. The little pumkin trick or treat pail is a Dress It Up button.

Black & White Robin

Here is a card I made last night. I had planned on posting it much earlier today, but I got in the craft room and before I knew it it was 4pm.
The stamp is another of the images from the JustRite set - Backyard Birds. No colouring on this one, just stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento. The papers are both Bo Bunny I think. The cute little clip is from Typo. I picked this up at the beginning of the September school holidays and have been waiting for the perfect place to use it.

Backyard Birds

This is my second post today. Please scroll down for the earlier one.

The new JustRite Stamp designs arrived in Australia last week. I managed to make a couple of cards with one of the new sets- Backyard Birds.

Both of the images have been stamped on X Press It Blending card using Memento Tuxedo Black and then coloured with Copics. I've used Hillary and Velvet Bazzill, a colour combo that I really like. The DP is from Kaiser

Burtonesque Dolls Challenge 20

This week over at The Burtonesque Dolls the challenge is "Edward Scissorhands Cutting Edge Design." This is my take on the challenge.

I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to do so I decided that since Edward was quite fond of trimming back the hedges into interesting shapes, I would design a card based on a topiary. The image is a digi that I designed for this challenge. I still have to clean it up a bit, but will release it later in the week. The image has been printed onto X-Press It Blending card and then coloured with Copics. The DP and ribbon is from Bo Bunny. The "Happy Holidays" is a sticker I've had for ages. The sketch provided is below.

Simply Betty Challenges 12 days of Halloween - Day 1

There's a fun challenge happening over at Simply Betty Challenges - The 12 Days of Halloween. Each day a new challenge will be posted and you will have one day to complete your project. To see the fantastic cards created by the DT and read more about the challenge, hop over to the challenge blog and check it out.
I love Halloween so I knew I would have to participate in this challenge. I was up bright and early this morning to begin work on my project for day 1. The challenge today is to incorporate at least one skelleton on your project. The stamp I am using is Betty from the My Kids Emo World Digi Range. The image has been printed onto X Press It blending card and then coloured with Copics. The purple background has been embossed with my spiderweb Cuttlebug embossing folder. The cute ribbon is from Michael's. I picked this up on one of our fall trips to the US, and this is the first I have used it. The skull and cross bones is from a clear cling set I've also had for ages, so not sure who made it.
