Home For the Holidays Step Card

I love step cards but sometimes find the cutting and measuring a bit of a pain. As I am always looking to simplify things, I've designed a cutting file to make this card.

The stamps are from Sunshine Designs. The paper is from Bo Bunny. I've stamped using Memento Ink and then coloured with Copics. Again apologies for the poor quality photo.

You can download the cutting file for free by clicking here. It is in both svg and scut2 format.

Christmas Treat Boxes

Well I'm finally back. I had planned on pre-scheduling a few more posts prior to leaving on holidays, but unfortunately I didn't get everything done that I wanted to. We are now in Canada with my family, keeping very busy doing some last minute Christmas shopping. The weather isn't too bad, with temperatures holding around -1. We have very little snow, only about 2cm. (We must be one of the few places in the country not burried under snow). We are still hoping for a bit more before Christmas though.
Disney World was a lot of fun. Unfortunately we had very cold weather so didn't get to do as much as we planned, a good excuse for another trip. Our flight from JFK to Syracuse was cancelled and we spent a long day waiting on another flight. We finallly got to Syracuse but our luggage was on another flight. We had to overnight in Syracuse and wait for our luggage to arrive. We decided to cancel our plans to go to Washington as we didn't want to get stuck and not make it to Canada for Christmas.
Anyway enough rambling. Here are a couple of little boxes I made as gifts. I had forgot all about them and found them in with some cards I had made to give as well. Sorry for the poor quality photos. I was in a bit of a hurry when I took them.

The paper is a double sided cardstock from Bo Bunny. I will post the template later. I have a couple more Christmas projects to share, so do check back soon.

Glittery Snowflake Tags

Here are some glittery tags I made to match some gift bags I purchased. I've applied some Jac Paper to card stock and then used my Spellbinder Snowflake Pendant to cut out the shape. I've peeled off the backing and appled glitter. I've added a few diamantes that I coloured black using my Copics. They are much nicer in person, as the photo doesn't really show the sparkle

More Gift Boxes

Here are a couple more boxes I made using the kits I found when I cleaned the craft room the other day. The textured paper is a handmade mulberry. The dragonfly stamp is from The Artful Stamper. It's been stamped and embossed and then bleached using household bleach. The wording stamp is from Serendipity Stamps. I've used Pearl Ex on the letters.

Burtonesque Dolls - It's a Mad Mad Tea Party

It's a Mad Mad Tea Party over at The Burtonesque Dolls this week, so here is my Design Team sample for this week's challenge.

For the challenge this week we were given the scene below from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland to use as inspiration. The image I have used was a freebie from Digital Two For Tuesday. I've had the image for some time but this is the first I've used it. The paper is from Basic Grey. The key is from the tag that was on an Alice in Wonderland t-shirt . The cups were something I got on my last trip to the US.

Christmas Tree Tags

Just wanted to share some tags I made to take with me to Canada. I've pre-scheduled this post as I am probably running around the house madly doing those last minute checks before heading off to the airport. I will pre-schedule a few posts so do check back over the next month. I may even have a few photos to share along the way.

These tags were pretty simple. I've used my Holiday Tree die from Spellbinders to cut them out. The image is from JustRite. I've added a little glitter a bow and a diamante and that's it.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Christmas

The 12 Days of Christmas has kicked off over at Simply Betty Challenges. With our trip just two days away I didn't think I was going to get a chance to participate, but I couldn't help myself and decided to do just this one.
The challenge today is to use a Simply Betty Halloween stamp to make a Christmas card. I have used Sassy Witch Mina, all decked out in Christmas colours. I've even replaced the skulls with diamantes.

Gift Boxes

I was cleaning up the craft room yesterday and I came across some class kits that I've had for some time. I thought I would make them up and use them as gift boxes. As they were all pre cut, most of the papers are of unknown origin, but most likely discontinued anyway as the kits are a few years old now. I do remember that the letters and numbers are cut using Sizzix lollipop dies. The red cardstock is from Bazzill.

Candy Cane Holders

I designed this holder a few weeks ago, but hadn't had a chance to cut it out and see if it actually worked. I will probably make some changes later, but I think in looks ok. The stamps that I've used to decorate the holders are from the new JustRite set Whimsical Christmas. I've used some scraps of printed paper to line the inside before folding it up. If you would like the cutting file you can download it for free by clicking here. It is in svg and scut2 format.

As we will be overseas for December I didn't have my Christmas Tree to take a photo of it hanging. I did still have the Halloween Tree handy so here it is on that. It actually hangs quite nicely on the tree. I thought I would submit this to this week's challenge over at Winter Wonderland. The challenge this week is to make a decoration.

The Burtonesque Dolls Sketch Challenge

Hi all, hope everyone is well. First up my exciting news. I am now a design team member of The Burtonesque Dolls. I was thrilled to be chosen and look forward to creating and being part of this fantastic design team. Now for this week's challenge:

It's a Sketch this week!

For this week the Dolls have a great Sketch created by Cheri over at Simply Betty Challenges. So grab your papers, embellies and images and leave the design to us.

For my card I decide to flip the sketch. I've used Lola from Simply Betty Stamps. She has been printed onto X Press It blender card and coloured with Copics. The paper I've had for ages, is Just A Girl from Got Moxxie. I thought this the perfect background for Lola.

Here is the sketch. Be sure to stop by The Burtonesque Dolls and see what the other Dolls have created.

Three Trees

This stamp from Sunshine Designs would have to be one of my all time favourite Christmas designs.
I spent a lot of time on the image so decided to keep the card design pretty simple. The image has been stamped and embossed twice. The base image has been coloured completely. I've stitched beads onto the middle tree. I've coloured in a second image and attached the two outside trees and the star from the middle tree to the base using Magic Mount. I've added some diamants to the trees and some Ice Stickles to the stars. Tombows were used to colour in the images.

Christmas House

Just a quick post to share this card I made this afternoon. I've had this stamp for ages but never used it. The image is from Sunshine Designs, the wording is from JustRite. All the papers are from my scrap box.

Gretel

I had a friend visiting a couple of weeks ago, and while she was here we visited the local scrapbook shop. Although I didn't really need anything I did manage to find a few things to buy. This stamp from C C Designs was one of my purchases. I 've stamped the image onto X Press It blender card with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then coloured with Copics. All the papers are from my scrap box. I believe the DP is from Kaiser.

Glitter Trees

Here are some cards I made yesterday. With less than 2 weeks until we leave for our Christmas vacation, I thought I had better get moving on my Christmas cards. I still have so much I want to make before I leave.

The tree is cut from my Joys of The Season Cricut cartridge. I've cut the tree from Jac Paper, attached it to an oval of white Bazzill and then applied glitter. For the glitter borders I've stuck some Jac Paper to cardstock before cutting out with my Spellbinder dies. I attached white cardstock to this, leaving only a small border of the sticky Jac Paper showing and applied the glitter. I sprayed all with clear sealer to keep the glitter in place. I thought I would submit this to Christmas Cards All Year 'Round as the challenge for November is trees and a bow.

Green, Red & Black Christmas Cards

I thought I would use up some scraps today so I sorted through my scrap pile and picked the colour combo of red, green and black to work with. Here are two cards I made.

This first card is made using a new design "Leafy Tree" from The Stamp Barn. I stamped and embossed the image and then coloured with Tombows. The white background card is an embossed cardstock from Bazzill. It is difficult to see but it has a leafy pattern that matches the stamp. I've added a few diamantes to the dots on the card.

This second card was stamped with Memento and coloured with Copics. The image is also from The Stamp Barn. Both images are now available in my web shop.

Jingle All The Way

Here is a card I just finished. The stocking has been cut from felt using my Holiday Cheer Spellbinders. The fancy tag is also a Spellbinder die. I've stitched on five little bells and stitched some x's onto the stocking as well. It was difficult to match the felt with cardstock colours , but I think the ones I've used look ok.
The wording is from Sunshine Designs.

Red & White Christmas Cards

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I've had a pretty productive one, spending most of it in the craft room. I think I managed to make nine cards in total. It was good to finally feel like Ii'm getting caught up. Here are two of the cards I made.

For the first card I used Whimsy Santa from Sunshine Designs. I've stamped the image onto X Press It blender card using Tuxedo Black Momento and then coloured it with Copics.

The second card was a real quick one. I've used my Fanciful Holiday Spellbinder die to cut the reindeer. The wording is from Sunshine designs. All papers for both cards are from my scrap box.

Here is a very simple card I made this morning. The image stamps are both from The Stamp Barn. The wording is from Sunshine Designs. The images have stamped and embossed in silver and then coloured with Tombows. The little fairy has been attached using Magic Mount.

Glad Tidings

I am finally back after a longer break than I had planned. It's been a hectic couple of weeks but hopefully I can get the weekend to catch up on some of my craft projects.
I made this card this morning for Simply Betty Challenges. This week we were provided with a sketch to follow. I've used one of the new Simply Betty Christmas Emo images released last week. The image has been printed onto X Press It Blender Card and coloured with Copics. The papers are scraps from my scrap box. The greeting is from Sunshine Designs.

Felt Christmas Ornament

I thought I would take a break from paper crafting yesterday, so I made this little felt ornament.

I picked up some bright coloured felt pieces yesterday as well as some embroidery cottons as I wanted to make a few ornaments to take as gifts when we go to USA/Canada at the end of the month. For this one I used the largest Holiday Tree Spellbinder die and cut out two felt pieces. I stitched on some buttons and then stiched around the outside. It's been filled with a small amount of toy stuffing. I used some of the cotton to make a loop at the top and tied a bow.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween - Day 12

It's the final day of The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. It's been heaps of fun and I've enjoyed each and every one. The theme for today is "12 Witches Cackling"

For my project I have made a star card. It is in fact a recipe for the "Ultimate Witches Brew"
It was quite a challenge keeping all the ingredients tucked safely inside. They were very determined to escape. As the label says "Open at Your Own Risk"

For this Witches Brew you will need the following:
12 Cackling Witches to assemble and mix:
1 Bat
1Spider
1 Lizard
1 Toad (the uglier the better so I've used a Cane Toad)
1 Snake
Throw all ingredients into the cauldron and recite the following:
Double Double, Toil and Trouble, Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble

Anyway, here is a photo of what the opened project looks like. Below I've added a photo of each individual section.

Double Double

Toil and Trouble

Fire Burn

Cauldron Bubble

Happy Halloween
Both images are from Simply Betty Stamps. I've used Bazzill for the plain cardstock. The inside panels have been embossed with my Cuttlebug Spiderweb embossing folder. The DP is from Best Creations Inc. All images were printed onto X Press It Blender Card and coloured with Copics. The "ingredients" and card panels were cut on my Cricut using files I designed. I've used wire to suspend the "ingredients" in the cauldron.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to all. I thought I would share another Halloween card I made this morning. It's not the last one for this year as I still have one more challenge to complete in the 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges.

I thought I would also share a photo of my Halloween Tree. I've had the country style tree for a couple of years, decking it out for Christmas with folky/country ornaments. Last year my daughter and I spent October in Canada and travelled down to Lancaster PA for a few days. I found these little Halloween ornaments in one of the many shops we visited and decided we needed a Halloween Tree
I didn't get a real pumpkin this year as we don't usually get any trick or treaters. I do have a foam one that looks pretty real so I have one of those battery operated candles in that. I started making some felt pumpkins for the tree skirt but only finished one-maybe next year.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween - Day 11

The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges are nearly finished. It's been such good fun, playing along. I've made more projects for Halloween in the past couple of weeks than I've ever made. The theme of the challenge today is 11 Bats a Flying.

I decided to do something a little bit different for this one. I did make a card and then remembered that I had some cool bat ribbon stashed away so had a change of plans.
Seeing that the Spring racing season has kicked off here in Australia and with Melbourne Cup coming up on Tuesday, I thought I would make some wearable art and create this fascinator. It may not win any prize at Fashions on The Field but I had fun creating it.

I cut the bats on my Cricut and then covered them with Black Diamond embossing powder. I added a few beads to some wire and added a few orange diamantes.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween-Day 10

It's day 10 of The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. The theme today is "10 Creepy Spiders Spinning Their Web Just for Me"

The image that I've used is Spiderella from Simply Betty Stamps. I've coloured her with Copics and added a little Distress Ink sponged on after I cut her out. The spiderweb card is one of my own cutting files. The wording has been printed in Nightmare Before Christmas font. The spiders are from a packet of Halloween confetti I've had for ages. I've added a little crystal glitter to the web for a shimmery effect, but it's a bit difficult to see in the photo.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween- Day 9

Its day 9 of the 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. The challenge today is themed "Love Potion #9"

I created a Potion Bottle cutting file and made a shaker card. I've filled the bottle with chunky glittter and spiders. The spider paper on the inside of the bottle doesn't have any info on it so I'm not sure who made it. I've used my Cuttlebug spiderweb embossing folder on the front. The image is Sassy Witch Mina from the Victorian Beauties digi range over at Simply Betty Stamps. The image has been printed onto X Press It blender card and coloured with Copics. If you would like the cutting file for the card you may download it for free by clicking here. The file is in both svg & scut2 format. I've updated the day 8 post and added the link for the cauldron cutting file now as well.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween- Day 8

Here is my card for the 8th Day of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. The theme today is 8 Waltzing Zombies dancing around a Witches Cauldron. For this challenge we had to incorporate zombies and/or cauldrons into our project.

For my card I designed a cauldron shaped card and used Betty Witch from Simply Betty Stamps. The bats were cut using my Spellbinder Nested Bats die. All the other bits and pieces are from my stash.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween-Day 7

It's day 7 of The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. Today's theme is 7 Skellingtons, and the challenge is to incorporate Jack Skellington into your project.

For my card I have London Pumpkin from The Simply Betty Emo Halloween range dreaming of her perfect man, Jack Skellington The Pumpkin King. I've replaced the pumpkin at London's feet with the Jack pumpkin head from the follower freebie. The DP is from Bo Bunny, the bats are Spellbinders and the spider web was cut on my Cricut.

Haunted Design House-Simply Sinister

Hi all. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Here is the card I made for this week's challenge over at Haunted Design House. The theme this week is Simply Sinister and the challenge was to keep the card simple with a minimum of embellishments etc.

My card was a super simple quick card. I've printed out Christian Vamp from Simply Betty Stamps onto X Press It blender card and coloured with Copics. The background paper is some I've had for ages that came in a pack from one of the discount shops. I've added a few Spellbinder bats and that is about all.

Penny Black Christmas Cards

Here are a couple of cards I made today. I just bought this new set of Penny Black Christmas stamps-Mimi"s Christmas, and I wanted to have a bit of a play. The top card has been stamped with Tuxedo black Momento and then coloured with Copics. I've added some Liquid Applique to the hat and dress and sprinkled some Crystal Glitter over it before heating.
The second card has been stamped and embossed and then coloured with a combo of Copics and Tombows. All the papers are from my scrap box and the embellishments are from my stash.

Simply Betty 12 Days of Halloween-Day 5

It's day five of The 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Challenges. Todays theme is "5 flying ghosts whispering in the wind!"

For my card I used Christian Vamp digi from Simply Betty Stamps. The image has been printed onto X Press It blender card and coloured with Copics. I designed the frame to cut on my Cricut. I've cut out some extra ghosts to pop up over the ones on the frame. I couldn't resist using my Cuttlebug spider web embossing folder yet again. I think this is the most used embossing folder I own. I've used Crystal Glitter on the ghosts to make them sparkle. It's hard to see but I've used my clear Atyou Spica glitter pen on the spider web on the frame for a little sparkle as well.

Simply Betty Challenges #4

Here is the card I made for this weeks challenge over at Simply Betty Challenges. The challenge this week was to make a card or project using a scene in a photo for inspiration. The photo is of a scene from "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" I can remember watching this every year when I was a kid growing up in Canada. I think I have a copy of it on VHS that I got for my daughter when she was little.

Anyway I tried to incorporate all the colours from the photo into my card. The pumpkins in the pumpkin patch were cut on my cricut. I added lots of Art institute Glitter in Pumpkin, Black and Sea. The image is a follower freebie from Simply Betty. I've coloured this with Copics, once again using the colours in the picture. Although this Sally isn't waiting on the Great Pumpkin to appear, she is patiently waiting on her "Pumpkin King"
